Carpet Cleaning
Truck-mounted hot-water extraction in six steps, finished with a groomed pile, across 42 Orange County cities.
What actually wears a carpet down
Carpet rarely fails everywhere at once. It goes dull along the lanes people walk every day: the hallway, the path from the front door, the strip in front of the sofa. Grit rides in on shoes and works down into the pile, and that grit is what grays a lane long before the rest of the room looks tired.
Spots are the second problem. A spot that looks gone after a quick blot can wick back up as the carpet dries, because the residue sat lower in the fiber than the surface treatment reached. That is why spots are treated and preconditioned on their own, before the main pass.
Pet urine is the third, and it is a different job. Topical deodorization is included with every carpet cleaning at OCD HOME. When urine has gone through to the pad, a Bio Treatment is $65 per area. We confirm the exact treatment after assessing your surfaces, so you are not paying for a step the carpet does not need.

Beige loop-pile staircase after cleaning, every tread groomed in one direction
Six steps, and the grooming lanes come last
Every carpet job runs the same six steps. Inspect and protect comes first: we look at the fiber, the traffic lanes and the furniture, and protect what the wand could touch. Prepare follows, then spots are treated and the carpet is preconditioned so soil lets go of the pile.
Agitate works the preconditioner down into the fiber. Rinse and extract is the truck-mounted hot-water extraction itself, with fruit- and plant-based cleaning products, pulling soil and moisture out to the truck instead of leaving it in the room. It is the step most people picture when they hear steam cleaning.
The sixth step is dry, detail and review. We groom the pile in one direction, which is where the wand lanes in the family-room photo below come from, and review the finished work. Our IICRC Certified Firm standing and our Carpet and Rug Institute approval are the reason these steps stay the same on every visit.
Priced by the area, not by the guess
Carpet at OCD HOME is priced by what you can measure. A room is $90 up to 150 square feet, a hallway $45 up to 75 square feet, and a walk-in closet $25 up to 35 square feet. A staircase is $105 for up to 16 regular steps plus two landings. Larger rooms are counted as a room-and-a-half or a double room.
Every appointment carries a $250 job minimum, which is why most customers book several rooms, the stairs and a hallway in one visit. Bedrooms, stairs and landings, hallways and offices all follow the same card. The full list sits on the services page with the tile and grout rate beside it.
Book online and you see the price when you book. If a result falls short, the Every Inch guarantee means we come back and readdress it at no additional charge. Stain removal can't be guaranteed, and wear, fading and dye loss can't be reversed by cleaning, and we say so up front.

150 sq ft room · 16 steps, 2 landings
Two named jobs, before and after
A kids’ room with beige cut-pile carpet, and a loop-pile staircase with the full 16 steps and two landings. Each pair shows the same floor before and then after.

Rugs on top of that carpet are their own job: see area rug cleaning, and the sofa beside it is covered under upholstery cleaning. Tile floors in the same house are cleaned and sealed at $1.50 per square foot. Browse everything on the services page.
